Castellberg Dottingen
On calcareous conglomerate rock with weathered rock components and clay, the vines thrive on warm, well-drained soils. The steep south to southwest location benefits from intense sunlight, while cooling air currents from the Black Forest provide a balancing influence. The pronounced day-night differences favor a slow and even ripening of the grapes, while preserving their freshness and aroma. This results in wines of particular elegance and finesse, characterized by fine minerality and precise fruit. A clear structure and subtle power give them a harmonious balance and a distinctive character.
